Overview: Why SEED students do a "Presentation of Learning"?
April 2, 2013
Dear SEED Parents:
Student Presentations of Learning (POL) will begin following spring break, in order to make sure that students are better prepared and parents are better informed we have created a website for your review, http://seedpresentationoflearning.weebly.com.
Students that participate in POL process learn a variety of skills:
· Public speaking and presentation skills
· Connecting their academic subjects to an enduring understanding
· Showcase their core values
· Learn how to make personal connections to characters in books they read in addition to projects and activities they do
· To build a foundation for the capstone project they will complete as a culmination of their studies in 12th grade
· It’s a chance to prepare themselves for college level coursework
Criteria for the POLs and a timeline can be found on this website. It is imperative that students are in proper attire for this presentation. Students are expected to wear professional dress or full uniform. High school students are required to wear their SEED blazer. Please ask your child about their plans to complete this project.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to your child’s achievement. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
